Astilbe make beautiful additions to shade or part shade gardens, providing plume like flowers over extremely attractive foliage. In Zone 8, astilbe normally flower late April/Early May. Flowers range in color from white to peach to red and lilac purple. Heights vary from <1 to >3 ft in height.
Martin Garden Center often offers Astilbe for sale as tubers in the spring. You must be on our mailing list to receive these notifications. We tend to sell out within a week. We also plant tubers in the spring into 1-gallon containers for later spring sales. We carry many different varieties.

Late bloomer; this giant Astilbe begins as clusters of cherry-red flowers on chocolate-red stems, held above large clumps of ferny dark foliage. As plant matures, foliage fades to green and flowers fade from red to pink.
